Easy Peasy Caramel

…do you want to know a SECRET?

Dare I say it is one that will make you soooo happy?!

…or at least me very happy when I found out…

…making CARAMEL is as easy as boiling a can of sweetened condensed milk in a large pot of water…


yeap, it’s true.  And…that is pretty much all you need to the directions!

so maybe everyone in the world already knows/knew this, but it is news to me, and IT IS SO STINKING EASY AND DELICIOUS!

Okay, here I go…

(If anything…it might be a little time-consuming…but can be done while at home with very little supervision)


  • Water to fill pot
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk


  • Stove
  • Large pot


  • Turn stove on medium high
  • Put can of sweetened condensed milk in pot (remove label)
  • Fill pot with water, the can needs to be completely submerged
  • Place pot on stovetop
  • Let can boil for ~3.5-4 hours
  • Keep water above the can
  • After ~3.5-4 hours, turn off stove top.
  • Dump out boiling water.
  • Allow can to cool for ~30min.-1 hour
  • Open can, ENJOY the sweetened condensed milk that has TRANSFORMED into a smooth, velvety, brown caramel!

– absolutely DELICIOUS on on salty crackers, such as whole wheat Ritz crackers!

-scrumptious as a frosting (see here!)

-delightfully spooned right into your mouth

-etc., etc., etc. be creative or eat it all by its lonesome!
