Oreo Truffles

After seeing soooo many blog posts about Oreo Truffles and after trying some that a coworker made this summer, I finally decided to make my own.  Seriously, there are many, many, many posts about Oreo Truffles and here is my own to add to the list 😀

The recipe is really simple and most posts call for the same ingredients; there are relatively few modifications including adding vanilla and mixing up the type of Oreo and chocolate that is used.

I made these for a housing program and they were a hit! And sooooo easy!

Oreo Truffles

Ingredients

  • 1 package of Oreo cookies
  • Chocolate (baking chocolate, baking chips)
  • 1 package (8oz.) cream cheese

Directions

  • Using a food processor/blender blend all the Oreo cookies into a fine powder.
  • Save ~1/4 cup to be used later as a topping.
  • Mix cream cheese into the blended cookies.  This is easier if the cream cheese is at room temperature.
  • Roll this batter into balls and place them onto a wax paper on a baking sheet.  Place these in either the freezer (requires less time) or the refrigerator (~40 minutes or so) to harden.
  • Melt the chocolate (I used semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips).
  • Dip the balls into the melted chocolate, place them back on wax paper, and sprinkle with leftover Oreo crumble (or sprinkles, crushed candy, anything).
  • Let harden again in the freezer or refrigerator.
  • ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ways to Mix it Up

  • Different Oreo cookies (Peanut Butter, Mint, Coffee, Golden)
  • Different Chocolate (white, milk, semi-sweet, dark)
  • Different Toppings (sprinkles, Oreo crumbs)
